About Jim Talbot & DrumQuest

With an open heart, Jimbo attracts and attunes participants and audiences alike to spirit-filled drum adventures in collaborating to create joyful rhythmic tapestries. After setting intentions to promote peace, prosperity and community, participants are playfully inspired to resonate with wellness, wholeness and connection through spirit. The result is an unforgettable experience where spontaneous music making through uplifting drum songs (chant) and movement is the norm.

“This is where the real magic happens, when everyone can discover their unique and individual talents blending perfectly to co-create a masterpiece.” His gift is in creating an atmosphere of acceptance, energy, and fun. Mixed with a healing vibration of the drum, healthy ‘happy hour’ happens!

Jimbo’s early explorations into music include receiving a red snare drum at age 11; having no idea it would eventually lead him to discover his path to freedom. Singing and instrument lessons, led to solo and ensemble performances in school, church, home and community concerts, plays and events. Earning scholarship admission to Ithaca College’s renowned School of Music, he further honed his craft, eventually graduating with a vocal performance degree. Afterwards, operatic roles, ensemble and solo concert experiences in both New York and Los Angeles occupied much of his attention.

Always with a spirit for adventure and a yearning for exploration of the natural world, he began turning more attention towards outdoor pursuits that include mountain /rock climbing, white/flat water paddling, winter skiing and primitive camping. These experiences led him to travel, guide and instruct throughout North and Central America, as well as Nepal and Southeast Asia.

A resident of Saint Petersburg, Florida, he follows his heart-path exploring lifelong passions for drumming and music while also teaching and facilitating outdoor adventure learning experiences. A few years ago, he set off to blend his passions by founding DrumQuest, with its mission to inspire, motivate and guide children-of-all-ages to live more joyfully, passionately and consciously.
