Bali Highlights

Welcome to Bali! The island of the gods… the soul of the planet!

July 20

Upon arrival at the Ngurah Rai Aiport in Denpasar, you’ll be taken to your seaside village bungalows at Tandjunsari at Sanur Beach to start “unplugging to plug into” Bali. You may want to arrive a day or two early to get settled before beginning your VisionQuest to Bali.

July 21 (B, D)

Morning at leisure. Meet at the Soul Cafe after breakfast to connect and set intentions. In the afternoon we’ll head to the Uluwatu Temple on the coast to make an offering and then experience the kecak dance.

This evening we join together at our special Welcome Dinner at seaside restaurant in Jimbaran.

July 22 (B)

Today’s tour takes you through the Munduk countryside, the Botanical Gardens at Bedugul and areas of spectacular terraced rice fields. At Lake Beratan you will experience a meditation at the Ulun Danu Lake Temple (photo below).

Followed by time at the Munduk waterfall. (Photo below of Ulun Danu Lake Temple and below, Lore Raymond at the Munduk waterfall: “letting Bali breathe me.”

Purification Rites & Personal Healing Day
Early this morning, wearing your Balinese temple clothes, you’ll head to Tampaksiring Holy Temple for a ritual purification overseen by a Hindu priest. Bring a change of clothes–you’ll get wet as you go through the fountains which represent the different stages of purification.

Following this, you’ll attend a mask making workshop followed by time with a Balinese healer–a dukun. (Photo below of a Bali Girl with a dukun. Healings are public in Bali.) The night will be celebrated with a traditional Legong dance.

July 24 (B)

Day at leisure.
Many Bali Girls enjoyed going to the internationally famous Green School or the Elephant Park.

And of course, there’s always dozens of spas to go to at our hotels or elsewhere for nourishing your spirit and pampering your body at very inexpensive prices! Below is one of our Bali Girls in a warm bath with fragrant plemeria after her 2-hour Javanese Lulur massage–cost? $35.

Exclusive Mountain Village Day-Experience Balinese Life
Today you’ll visit a small mountain village. This is an area that’s completely off the beaten track and is rarely seen by visitors to Bali. On the way to the village, you’ll visit an elementary school where you’ll deliver a gift of school supplies. Though school is not in session at this time of year, you can meet some of the students as they participate in summer scouting activities with their teacher. On arrival at the village, you’ll visit a farmer in the fields. You’ll have an opportunity to participate in preparing farm implements, and planting or cultivating rice using traditional methods. Or, feel free to just observe and take pictures. Continue to the village compound where you’ll see a demonstration, have a short lesson, and participate in playing the instruments of the village gamelan orchestra. In addition, you’ll have a lesson in how to make a temple offering and you’ll take a walking meditation on a rice field trek. At the local temple you’ll receive a blessing from a Hindu priest (Be sure to wear your Balinese clothes!). Lunch is included in the village compound. Again this is a once in a lifetime, exclusive experience offered by VisionQuest travels.

***An Extraordinary Day of Energy: A Solar Eclipse and Full Moon in Bali***
Morning at leisure
Lunch with Balinese leaders (optional-extra cost)
This afternoon we experience the Pasar Agung Temple — the highest temple in Bali at 10,000 ft. (FYI: Machu Picchu in Peru is at 13,000 ft.) We will make our offerings (our dinner food) which will be blessed and then we will eat…followed by a Soul Cafe in the full moon as we see the lights of Bali appear in the night. A Silent Retreat until breakfast the next day follows.

July 27 (B)

Visit the Bali children’s orphanage to deliver our donation cargo and brief visit. After we head to the Bat Cave Temple with a brief beach mediation at the Indian Ocean. We will also visit the Tenganan traditional village that’s been operating the same way since the early 1800s. And we will then stay for three nights in the superior bungalows at Candi Beach Cottages on the Indian Ocean.

July 28 (B)

A day of leisure.
Enjoy more of Bali’s fabulous and inexpensive body works.

July 29 (B)

The Bali Girls’ Farewell Dinner–the tradition is to wear your favorite ”little black dress.”

July 30

We leave Bali…and some are headed home with group and private transfers. Others will stay on…

Om shanti, shanti, shanti, om.
